Hotel Accommodation

Hotels in Madagascar are classified in stars and Ravinala (a local system using the symbol of our traveller’s palm tree, the Ravinala).

We can classify the hotels in 3 categories

• Luxury hotel
• Middle class hotel
• Basic hotel

The top-class hotels have 3 to 5 stars, contain a swimming pool, a shop, a lawn tennis-court and TV with different channels. Very good hotels exist only in the large towns and tourist areas. In some remote places basic hotels do not have good facilities, so camping is a better choice.

Camping

Camping is possible inside many parks, near villages, in the bush or on deserted beaches. We can provide you with a tent and mattress; however, you should bring your own sleeping bag. Three meals a day are provided while camping.

Bush camping

There are no toilet facilities while you are safari bush camping, so we make our own toilet. We will supply water during the trip, obtaining it from villages through which we pass. River trip We supply water from the river, carefully boiling and purifying it for cooking or drinking tea. Camping in a park Some parks, but not all, have tap water and toilets. Additionally, some parks have cold showers, and a kitchen with tables and chairs.
